Grilled chicken drumsticks garnished with parsley on a wooden cutting board, with flowers and greenery in the background.

When we see chicken on sale, we buy it. It looks like a beginner butcher cut these drumsticks, the skin was cut up and the knuckle had yellow skin. I don’t mind because I will remove the skin before eating it and it was a great price. I am marinating the drumsticks then baking them in the oven.

A tray filled with raw chicken drumsticks, some with yellow skin, arranged on a black baking sheet with a granite countertop in the background.

Rinse chicken drumsticks and using a paper towel, pat dry.

A ziplock bag containing raw chicken drumsticks placed on a granite countertop.

Place the drumsticks in a ziploc bag.

A small bowl filled with a dark, thick marinade for chicken, sitting on a granite countertop.

In a small bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients and whisk until combined.

Pour the marinade over the drumsticks, get as much of the air out of the bag as you can, zip it closed.

Once the bag is sealed, massage the drumsticks. Refrigerate and every few hours, massage again then turn the bag over to the other side.

A large baking sheet lined with foil, sprayed with cooking oil, prepared for baking chicken drumsticks.

Preheat the oven to 425º. Line a large baking sheet with foil then spray the foil with cooking oil.

Place the drumsticks on the foil and bake for 25 minutes. Turn them over and bake another 5-10 minutes or until the thickest part of the drumsticks is 165º then serve.
